MUMBAI: A day after he was not picked due to "fitness issues" in the Mumbai Ranji Trophy squad by the selectors, a fired up pacer Tushar Deshpande put in a telling all-round performance (42 & 4-34) while playing for BPCL against DY Patil B at MCA's ground in BKC on Day One of the Times Shield 'A' Division on Wednesday.
Similarly, teenaged allrounder Musheer Khan (109), who made a hundred on his Times Shield debut, for Indian Oil against DY Patil 'B,' and left-arm spinner Atharva Ankolekar (6-63 for Income Tax against DY Patil 'A') served a reminder of their abilities after failing to find a spot in the Mumbai Ranji outfit. Musheer had performed extremely well for Mumbai in the Cooch Behar Trophy (for Under-19).
