Mitch McConnell returned to the US Senate on Monday, 14 September, ending an absence of about three months that began after a fall at his home in Washington left him briefly unconscious and hospitalised.
The 84-year-old Kentucky Republican arrived in a wheelchair and cast his first Senate vote since June as lawmakers returned from their summer recess.
