The 81st edition of the Venice Film Festival commenced with the highly anticipated world premiere of 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' on the Lido. Directed by Tim Burton, the sequel reunites key cast members from the original 1988 horror-comedy, including Michael Keaton, Catherine O’Hara, and Winona Ryder.
Burton expressed that his motivation for creating the sequel was deeply personal, aiming to reignite his passion for filmmaking after feeling disillusioned with the industry. The film, set 36 years after the original, follows the Deetz family's new adventures, with Lydia (Ryder) now hosting a ghost-hunting TV show.
