The latest TikTok trend of car camping could leave drivers with hefty fines and points on their licences, experts have warned. The latest travel hack taking the internet by storm sees motorists kit out vehicles with everything they need to spend a night – from foam mattresses to black out shades.
Known as Stealth Camping, fans are turning to their cars for the convenience, flexibility and money-saving benefits with #stealthcamping has receiving more than 9.5 million views on TikTok alone. However, used vehicle sales specialist CarStore has issued a warning to anyone considering trying out the craze.
Mark Akbar, managing director at CarStore, said: “Exploring the UK’s many fantastic campsites and outdoor adventures is a great way to spend the summer, but we’d never advise drivers sleep in their cars overnight. There are many risks involved such as penalties and fines, not to mention the safety risks.
