TikTok star Delaney Rowe has become a viral sensation after her latest social media video attracted millions of views.
Her “absolutely insufferable female lead” skits have viewers “triggered” and “curling their toes”—but they keep coming back for more.
Posted a few days ago on her account DelaneySaysHello, the video includes the caption: “Absolutely insufferable female lead of an indie movie uses a metaphor that makes no sense.”
In the video, as Rowe walks through a grocery store, pretending to be the female lead of a movie, she says: “Shut up, I’m not mad, I just... The way I see it people are like... chips; spicy or acidic or would it kill you to be sweet?
She then challenges the person behind the camera, who is supposed to be the lead man, saying: “Open them, I dare you. Just, be the kind of guy that opens a bag of chips in the middle of the grocery store.”
The person behind the camera replies: “I don’t get it.” before Rowe replies “And you never did.”
At the time of writing, the video had been viewed more than 15 million times, garnering 3.1 million likes and 32.8 million comments.
Commenters have had a field day with it, too. One user said: “I can’t tell if this is Debby Ryan or Olivia Holt”, while another said: “Am I entertained or triggered? Either way I’m coming back tomorrow.”
Meanwhile, some viewers tried to guess what would happen in the storyline next. One said: “He doesn’t do it. But then they break up and grow apart and years later he sees those same chips but this time he does open them.”
Another of her fan-favourite videos is one that’s captioned: “Absolutely insufferable female lead of an indie movie tells a childhood story”, which has received 2.5 million likes.
And one video, entitled, “Absolutely insufferable female lead of an indie movie cooks dinner” also has viewers “curling their toes”.
One viewer wrote: “I can’t handle the vocal fry like I’m actually curling my toes,” while another simply said: “Emma Stone energy.”
But the comparisons don’t stop there.
One fan reckons Rowe’s video is “Debby Ryan through and through,” while another said it reminded them of “Kristen Stewart in every movie.”
Rowe is actually an actress best known for playing Cara in the short movie The Wine, which was released in 2020.
She has 1.5 million TikTok followers and 228,000 Instagram fans. Rowe shares comedy skits and relatable videos on her social media accounts.
