TikTok singer Jax calls Dumbarton youngster after her singing video went viral

A talented Dumbarton youngster whose singing video went viral was left star-struck after receiving a phone call from her idol.

Seven-year-old Rosie Mae Tiffoney from Castlehill, spoke to TikTok singing sensation Jax after her rendition of body confidence song ’Victoria’s Secret’ caught her attention.

The American singer-songwriter had earlier shared the young singer’s video – which received an incredible 10 million views across Instagram and TikTok, saying “HOLY CUTENESS!! Go rockstar GO!!!!!!!!”

The video was recorded at Louise and Des McFarlane’s Singer Station School of Music, where Rosie attended summer camp.

One fan gushed: “She’s so talented. She’s going to change the world one day.”

Another said: “Omg sorry Jax, now I have another favourite version of your song”, to which Jax replied: “I prefer Rosie’s version over my own!!!!”

Last week, Jax, who also finished third on American Idol, personally reached out to the Aitkenbar Primary School pupil and asked if she could give her a call.

Rosie’s proud mum Kimberley Bullion explained: “On Friday night, Jax had messaged Rosie asking to speak to her mum or dad.

“We were thinking the worst, and at first I thought she was going to ask us to remove the video.

“She sent me a phone number to call, and I thought it was just going to be some random person, but it wasn’t, it was
Jax.

“She was congratulating Rosie on the phone and how she wanted to meet up with Rosie and eat candy with her.”

She added: “She said that we sounded like we were from Peaky Blinders!”

New York singer Jax wrote the song ‘Victoria’s Secret’ promoting positive body image for soon-to-be 13-year-old girl Chelsea, whom she babysits.

The songwriter mentioned in a video to her 11 million followers that when the young girl got into her car from the mall she was ‘hysterically’ crying because a friend had told her the bathing suit she tried on made her look ‘too fat and too flat.’

Jax, who had struggled with eating disorders, told Chelsea she decided to write a song for her to make her feel better.

Rosie has embraced the body positive lyrics and is even writing her own verse for the song, which she hopes to share with Jax in person.

Kimberley said: “Jax said that if she does come over to the UK, then Rosie would be one of the first people she would like to meet and she would get her up on
stage.

“We are seeing what the next steps are for Rosie, and she’s even writing her own verse for the ‘Victoria’s Secret’ song, which she wants to share with Jax in person.

“It’s mad because I never even had the confidence to sing in the bath, never mind on stage and a song that no one knew. It’s mind-blowing.”

Little Rosie Mae’s confidence is sky high and added: “It’s not mind-blowing, it’s unreal.”

Kimberley was blown away at the other stars interacting with the post including Jordin Sparks and Carrie Underwood, saying: “It really blew me away when big names like Jordin Sparks and Carrie Underwood started interacting with Rosie’s video.

“She’s only a wee girl from Castlehill, and these mega famous folk are watching it. It’s mad.”
