One TikTok user has just perfected the way of making the 'perfect' steak and chips in the air fryer.
Using an air fryer to cook your meals is becoming more and more popular, especially as skyrocketing energy bills leaves many looking for cheaper alternatives. Now, one food savvy TikToker has shared her method to cooking the perfect steak and chips leaving all of her followers doing it themselves.
Foodie Helen Westwood, who has amassed an impressive 10.7k followers and 46.6k likes on TikTok as @welshfoodgirlie, stunned users with her easy, minimal effort cooking methods labelling the results 'absolutely delicious'. The keen home cook shared her go-to recipe for the perfect steak and chips, leaving viewers amazed by the results, reports the Mirror.
First things first, Helen preheated her air fryer for three minutes, before tossing her chopped potato slices in a bowl with a decent helping of oil. She then added these to the air fryer basket for fifteen minutes, with the temperature set at 200C.
While these were cooking nicely, she coated her steaks with rapeseed oil and seasoned them with plenty of salt and pepper.
When there were still a few minutes to go, Helen gave the basket of chips a firm shake before popping them back in the fryer for the remaining six minutes. Once the full fifteen minutes were up, she whacked in the steaks and set the timer for another ten minutes, again at 200C, turning these over at the halfway point.
The resulting meal looked, in Helen's words, 'absolutely delicious'. She plated it up with a fresh salad and plenty of coleslaw before tucking in, and the steak looked just as juicy as anything you could whip up in the pan.
Many of Helen's followers are now keen to give the recipe a go for themselves, with many remarking on how 'perfectly' the 'banging' steak was cooked.
One person drooled: "Now this is something I never would have thought of to put in my air fryer. That's me gunna have a go at this!" Another air fryer aficionado recommended: "Put some sliced onions with your chip, gives it a nice flavour."
