A TikTok dad has gone viral with a video showcasing his several years of preparation for doomsday scenarios because it's "best to have it and not need it."

Over the past three years Sam, a TikTok creator known as @SamBeReady, has turned his home into a fortress, stockpiling non-perishable food, defense tools, and emergency supplies in preparation for natural, economic, and political disasters.

@sambeready We been preparing for a few years now . Best to have it and not need it ! #sambeready #prepper #preppertips #foodstoreage #readywise @ReadyWise ♬ original sound - SamBeReady

His video documents his meticulous planning, including labeled frozen goods, solar power solutions, and extensive water supplies.

One of Sam's TikTok videos, which has now been viewed over three million times, highlights his extensive preparedness, featuring items like radiation defense gear, first aid kits, and even labeled frozen foods with a precise use-by date.

"We been preparing for a few years now. Best to have it and not need it," the video's caption reads.

The video has sparked widespread discussion about disaster preparedness, with some viewers praising Sam's foresight, while others remain skeptical, asking what would happen if nothing ever went wrong.

"[S]o if you don't have time to move all this to survive somewhere else . you will be screwed. there's no way you can move all that on a dime. doesn't make sense. good idea but downsize bro," one user wrote.

"Good for you!!! Send me your address!" another wrote.

The way Sam sees it is by comparing his efforts to paying for insurance, emphasizing that being prepared is always a wise investment.
