MPs have asked for a formal investigation into whether TikTok is breaking UK law. MPs sitting on the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC) argues that TikTok cannot be compliant with data protection rules and has asked the Information Commissioner (ICO) to investigate.
The committee believes if proven to be breaking rules, TikTok could be banned in the UK.
MPs and members of the House of Lords from all the main parties have signed the letter calling for investigation.
