Left-arm seamer Sam Rainbird has given Tasmania a dream start to their must-win Sheffield Shield match against Queensland in Hobart.
Tasmania's bowlers made full use of captain Beau Webster's decision to send the visitors in to bat with Queensland 4-83 at lunch on a green Bellerive Oval wicket.
Rainbird (3-12 from nine overs) was near unplayable during one of his stints returning 3-5 from six overs as the Bulls suffered a top-order collapse.
Bryce Street (23) and Joe Burns (28 not out) put on 40 for the first wicket before the former was caught in slips off Rainbird.
The wicket kick-started a collapse of 4-7 and included a 100th first-class wicket for Gabe Bell (1-18).
Burns and captain Jimmy Peirson set about reviving the innings hitting several boundaries in an unbroken 36-run stand before the interval.
Young fast bowler Blake Edwards came into the Queensland side with Michael Neser (side strain), Xavier Bartlett (back) and Mark Steketee (Test tour of Pakistan) all unavailable.
