Queensland were 1-87 at lunch in pursuit of an unlikely 432-run target on the final day of their Sheffield Shield clash against Tasmania at Bellerive Oval.

The Tigers declared on their overnight score to give the Bulls 96 overs to accomplish their task, with the visitors chewing up 30 already.

Joe Burns was the only wicket to fall with the former Test opener trapped lbw by Lawrence Neil-Smith for 29.

Bryce Street (39no) and Aryan Jain (13no) remain at the crease.

Tasmania dominated an injury-hit Queensland bowling attack on day three to reach 5-252 at the close, with skipper Jordan Silk unbeaten on 101.

Queensland went into the last-round match in equal second along with Victoria in search of a place in the final, but the Vics have gained the upper hand as they close in on victory against Shield leaders WA in Perth.
