Tiger Woods Set To Play With 15-Year-Old Son AT PNC Championship
The golfing icon confirmed in early December that he is not ready for competitive tournaments after undergoing surgery in September.
Woods was suffering from back issues due to years of golf related injuries and is now recovering from the successful back surgery.
Woods commented on his current fitness, saying: “I’m not tournament sharp yet. I’m still not there. These are 20 of the best players in the world and I’m not sharp enough to compete against them at this level. So when I’m ready to compete and play at this level, then I will.”
The 49-year-old has not competed in a tournament since The Open back in July, which ended poorly for Woods after failing to succeed in his third consecutive major.
During his career Woods has won 15 major titles and is regarded as the best golfer of all time and fans will be able to see the legend at an upcoming exhibition tournament.
Tiger Woods and his son have played at the annual 36-hole tournament five times, finishing fifth in 2023 and second in 2021.
Woods spoke on playing with his son and how he always looks forward to the tournament, saying: “Playing together is something we look forward to and it’s always more special when you’re surrounded by friends and family.”
The exhibition tournament is for current/former pros and allows them to play with a family member – traditionally their parent or children.
Bernhard Langer, a golfing legend from Germany, will be appearing in Orlando to defend their title from last year’s tournament.
Other star names include Vijay Singy and Nelly Korda, with the former competing with his son and the latter playing alongside her father Petr.
