Tiger Woods' lawyers have reportedly described Erica Herman as a 'jilted ex-girlfriend' as he hits back at her bid to allegedly overturn a non-disclosure agreement.
The couple's five year relationship, which began in late 2017, reportedly ended last October. And amid a seemingly bitter fallout, according to reports in the US Herman has now filed a lawsuit against the golf legend over an NDA she claims Woods made her sign at the start of their relationship.
The former restaurant general manager, 39, is arguing that the NDA should no longer be enforced in part due to the Speak Out Act. Under the act, any confidentiality clauses can be scrapped if there has since been a dispute in relation to 'sexual assault or sexual harassment'. But there is no suggestion she has accused Woods of any wrongdoing.
Herman is reportedly suing the Jupiter Island Irrevocable Homestead Trust - which he controls - for more than £24 million, alleging that Woods tricked her into leaving the Florida home in which they had lived together during their relationship.
But according to TMZ Sports, court documents have revealed that Woods, 47, has argued Herman has no right to invoke the federal statute, as she has never accused him of sexual assault or harassment.
The 15-time major champion has also outlined that in her court filings, his ex-partner answered the "NO" box when asked "does this case involve allegations of sexual abuse?" In the court documents, Woods reportedly states: "Ms. Herman's position is utterly meritless."
It then added: "It is a transparent abuse of the judicial process that undermines the purpose of the federal statute and those whom the statute seeks to protect." He also described her as a "jilted ex-girlfriend."
Woods is now reported to be asking a Florida court to rule Herman must abide by the NDA's arbitration provisions.
She had alleged Woods hatched a plan by duping her into thinking she was going on 'vacation', only to reach the airport to be told by his representatives she had been "locked out" of the house and could not return.
