Ticketmaster issues warning to all Leeds Festival ticket holders

Ticketmaster has issued a warning to anyone attending Leeds Festival this year. To ensure as smooth an entry as possible, these instructions should be followed before arriving over the August bank holiday weekend.

You must transfer the tickets to all your fellow festival-loving attendees ahead of time. This is because everyone needs to have their own ticket - for both weekend and day tickets - on their phone to be permitted into the festival site.

In order to send your friends their tickets, you’ll need to use Ticketmaster Transfer. Everyone attending needs their own Ticketmaster account.

How to transfer Leeds Festival tickets to friends

The holder of the Leeds Festival tickets should log into their Ticketmaster account and select from the list of Upcoming Events. Upon clicking the button to transfer tickets, you will be presented with simple steps to follow to complete the process.

If you have purchased tickets on behalf of more than one person, you will need to transfer the tickets one at a time. They will then receive an email invitation to accept while you will be emailed to be informed of when the transfer has gone through.

Your original barcode will no longer be valid once your guest accepts the transfer. Should the transfer button be greyed out, this means the tickets are not available for transfer.

If the tickets haven’t been transferred and you have received an error message, you should choose the option to ‘cancel transfer’ and try again.

How to accept a Leeds Festival ticket after being transferred

Festival-goers who are having their tickets sent to them by the original buyer should accept the ticket after it has been transferred. This involves clicking the accept tickets link in the email.

You will either have to log into your Ticketmaster account or create a new one, using the same email address that the ticket was sent to. The ticket should then be available to view in Upcoming Events.

If the barcodes for your mobile tickets are unable to be viewed, you should contact Ticketmaster here.

Leeds Festival website states that tickets can’t be transferred any later than 5pm on August 15 - just under two weeks before the festival gets underway. However, when we contacted Ticketmaster they confirmed that the transfer option is still open to those who bought a ticket.
