The FAI has today received confirmation that the June qualifier against Greece will be played in AEK Athens’ new €100m OPAP Arena.
The 32,500-capacity ground has been chosen to host all of Greece’s home Euro 2024 games, as well as this month’s friendly against Lithuania.
Confirmation came through today from the Greek Football Federation (EPO).
The ground, also known as ‘Agia Sophia’ was opened last year.
Irish fans are likely to be allocated 10 percent of the stadium’s capacity for the clash on Friday June 16.
