Douglas Ross was loudly heckled while launching the Scottish Conservatives local election manifesto in Glasgow today.

The Tory MP had barely spoken for a minute at the Courtyard hotel in Finnieston before he was briefly shouted down by veteran campaigner Sean Clerkin .

The Conservative leader had just branded Labour and the SNP "the terrible twins" of Scottish politics when Clerkin suddenly shouted "three jobs Ross" and launched into a minute-long rant about welfare cuts .

Scots mechanic to marry 'soul mate' following proposal two weeks after first meeting

A Scots mechanic decided to marry his 'soul mate' and move in with her just two weeks after their first encounter.

Donald Newell, 31, met Ashleigh Murray on February 24 this year when she left him a cheeky note with her phone number after taking her car to the garage.

The pair got their names tattooed on each other three weeks into their relationship after a marriage proposal and plan to start a family as soon as possible.

Shocking images show aftermath of fire that brought Edinburgh Bypass to a standstill for hours

New pictures show the devastation wrought by a trailer fire on a major Scots ring road today.

Fire crews were called to the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass around Calder at 10.40am after the Re-Gen trailer, believed to be carrying recyclable waste, burst into flames mid-transit.

The driver was able to pull the blazing container to the side of the road and disconnect his vehicle before driving to safety.

Police race to Edinburgh shopping centre amidst reports of major incident

A man is in hospital after being mowed down by a car in an Edinburgh car park.

Droves of cop motors scrambled to Westside Plaza in Wester Hailes Road on Thursday morning.

An image from the scene shows at least six police vehicles including two vans outside the centre's Odeon cinema.

The family of a young Rangers fan who tragically died from a life-shortening condition are asking supporters to applaud him during the 17th minute of tonight's Europa League quarter-final against Braga .

Mark Nairns was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Myopathy - a neuromuscular disease which stops cells getting the energy they need to function - when he was six-years-old.

At the time, his parents were told that he probably wouldn't reach his teenage years.
