Huge 'meteor' spotted in sky over Scotland as residents left stunned
A huge 'meteor' has been spotted in the sky over Scotland.
Residents from across the country have been left stunned as the suspected meteor appeared shortly after 9pm on Wednesday, September 14.
The UK Meteor Network received 35 public reports of the fireball as Scots began posting footage on social media.
In one CCTV clip taken in Linlithgow, West Lothian, the fireball could be seen hurling through the sky in the distance.
Stevie Doyle, who captured the clip, said: "We just witnessed something bright moving west through the sky which I guess must be something burning up in the earth’s atmosphere. Caught it on the security cameras."
Scotland's 'King of Bling' jailed after huge haul of fake goods found in wardrobe
A bogus designer goods salesman was jailed for 15 months after his bedroom wardrobe was found stuffed with luxury watches, sunglasses, clothing and aftershave that would have been worth more than £650,000 if they hadn't been Chinese counterfeits.
Conroy Lindsay, dubbed "Scotland's King of Bling", was caught after Falkirk Council trading standards officers investigated a trader on Gumtree advertising himself as The Watch Seller. A test purchase revealed it was Lindsay, and his home was raided.
In Lindsay's bedroom cupboard, officers found 39 Rolex watches that would have been worth £15,400 each if they'd been real, which Lindsay was selling on Gumtree and Facebook for £140 each.
Many of the Rolexes were "boxed". Watch parts and watchmakers' tools were also found.
Also stuffed in the closet were two "Daniel Wellington watches", four "Hublot watches", an "Omega watch", 29 "Rayban sunglasses", 10 bottles of "Creed Aventus aftershave", 28 "Givenchy t-shirts", a "Givenchy jumper", three "Fendi hoodies", and a pair of "Christian Louboutin trainers".

US rape suspect Nicholas Rossi tried to hijack his court hearing to hold a minute’s silence for the late Queen.
Rossi, who fled to Scotland from America to escape an array of alleged offences, made the request over a jail video link at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday.
The 35-year-old, who maintains he is actually a man called Arthur Knight, is currently being held in the city’s Saughton Prison.
Rossi told Sheriff Kenneth Maciver moments after the hearing started: “Can I ask your lordship if we can begin with a minute of silence in memory of Her Majesty?”
But the sheriff immediately shut Rossi down, telling him “I’m not hearing you very well”.
