Thunderstorms to batter Scotland as 55mph gales and rain forecast this week

Parts of Scotland are set to see high winds and possible thunderstorms this week as the weather turns wild.

From today, winds are set to reach as high as 55mph on the west coast of Scotland.

Showers will continue to creep into north western areas with more cloud and rain predicted on the coast from Wednesday evening.
