Thunderstorm warning issued as temperatures exceed 36C

A yellow thunderstorm warning has been issued across Northern Ireland, running until 6am on Friday.
Temperatures in parts of the UK have exceeded 36C, with Charlwood near Gatwick Airport recording the highest temperature so far at 36.4C.
The Met Office confirmed this is the ninth day in 2026 where UK temperatures have reached 35C or higher.
