Thunder win toss, bat first vs Renegades

Sydney Thunder captain Jason Sangha won the toss and elected to bat first as his under-fire team look to bounce back from a BBL horror show when they face the Melbourne Renegades at Marvel Stadium.

The Thunder have backed the same line-up to recover from their humiliating loss to Adelaide Strikers when they were dismissed for just 15 - the lowest ever total in men's Twenty20 cricket - with tailender Brendan Doggett top-scoring with four runs.

The Renegades will aim to make it two wins from as many matches when they face the Thunder in their first home T20 of the BBL season.

The hosts also named an unchanged line-up to the one that secured a 22-run victory in the opening round, when skipper Nic Maddinson top-scored with 87 off 49 balls and Akeal Hosein took 3-15.

TEAMS

Melbourne Renegades: Nic Maddinson (c), Sam Harper, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Aaron Finch, Jon Wells, Andre Russell, Akeal Hosein, Will Sutherland, Tom Rogers, Kane Richardson, Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

Sydney Thunder: Alex Hales, Matthew Gilkes, Rilee Rossouw, Jason Sangha (c), Daniel Sams, Alex Ross, Oliver Davies, Chris Green, Gurinder Sandhu, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Brendan Doggett.
