Former national teammates David Warner and Matthew Wade have clashed physically in a fiery Big Bash League encounter between the Sydney Thunder and Hobart Hurricanes.
The Hurricanes chased down their 136-run target with 23 balls to spare and five wickets in hand at Blundstone Arena on Sunday to leapfrog the Thunder into fifth spot.
Warner, playing his second game for the Thunder this season, shoved Wade following a tense chat between the former Test wicketkeeper and Sydney captain Chris Green.
Both Wade and Green indicated they held no animosity towards each other after their exchange at the halfway point of the Hurricanes chase.
"There was nothing untoward about it. We're both passionate and competitive on the field and trying to gain a win for our teams. There was nothing personal said," Green said.
"We were both playing with a lot of emotion, trying to lead our respective teams.
"We had a chat after the game. We move forward. If we end up playing (again) I'm sure we'll be as competitive as ever. If it happens again, great. If it doesn't, it doesn't.
"I walk away with no ill feeling."
Tim David, who was batting alongside Wade at the time, said Green was winding Wade up about a potential run out.
"Wadey bit back. It wasn't a great deal more than that," David said.
Wade told the Seven Network that things were alright between himself and Green.
"I couldn't hit him, that was more my main frustration," Wade joked.
Wade was earlier this season suspended for one BBL game after incurring three code of conduct breaches within 18 months.
The Hurricanes had the last laugh with David finishing unbeaten on 76 from 41 balls - his highest BBL score - with six sixes.
Quick Nathan Ellis earlier picked up a career-best 4-27 including a hat-trick, which spanned 11 overs.
Ellis, who was named player of the match, became just the second Hurricanes player to take a hat-trick after spinner Xavier Doherty in 2012.
Opener Matthew Gilkes was Ellis's first victim on the last ball of the fourth over, before he returned in the 15th with two more.
Thunder top-scorer Davies (45 from 38 balls) fell to a great low catch by Faheem Ashraf, before he bowled Nathan McAndrew for a duck.
Fellow quick Riley Meredith (2-14 from four overs) make the early breakthroughs after the Thunder won the toss and batted.
Meredith bowled Test opener David Warner, playing his second game this season after a nine-year BBL hiatus, for a second-ball duck in the first over.
He then trapped Sam Whiteman lbw in the fifth over to leave Sydney reeling at 3-19.
On his return to the Hobart side, spinner Paddy Dooley picked up an economical 3-22 as Sydney were bowled out for 135.
Thunder quick Daniel Sams was exceptional with the ball in a losing cause, finishing with 4-18.
