Set within the narrow streets and cramped apartments of Hong Kong's Kowloon Walled City in 1986, The 9th Dragon is a narrative-driven action game that rarely lets up on the combat.
Playing as Rookie, an undercover cop who's infiltrated the local organized crime syndicate, it's your job to fight your way through this largely lawless city. The streets, alleys, and tower blocks of Kowloon glow under The 9th Dragon's neon voxel-style art, and you're never too far away from your foes.
That usually means that combat is extremely close quarters, and as you take the fight to the henchmen and crime bosses of the city, making sure you make the most of your surroundings will be key. The reveal trailer shows hand-to-hand combat merging seamlessly with your use of a variety of weapons, channeling John Wick-style gun-fu to take down some seriously bad dudes.
As your moral choices determine the fate of both Rookie and the entire city, it's up to you to decide whether you'll play out The 9th Dragon as Hero or Anti-Hero. Right now, there's no confirmed release date for the title, but when it does arrive it should be easy to get your hands on it - The 9th Dragon is set to launch across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
