Thrifty foodie explains how to make perfect air fryer pizza in minutes

There's nothing quite like a freshly baked, piping hot pizza straight out of the oven. However, with many people looking to cut down on their oven use amid the rising cost of energy bills, some have started to look at different ways to whip up their favourite slice. One clever foodie has now shown how to make a pizza using the much more energy-efficient air fryer method, and it looks absolutely delicious.

Becky Excell, who regularly shares quick and easy budget cooking content with her fans, has now shared her thrifty recipe for air fryer pizza, beginning with a "really simple two-ingredient yogurt dough" she describes as "literally foolproof".

In a video that has been shared on TikTok, Becky, who goes by the username @beckyexcell, could be seen taking her gluten-free dough - which is made up of 260g Greek yoghurt mixed with 250g of self-raising flour - and rolling this out on baking paper, right out to the size of her air fryer basket.

Becky instructed: "Air fry the base for six minutes at 200C then flip, add the toppings and cook for three to four more minutes. [..] Obviously the size of the pizza depends on the size of your air fryer but if yours is smaller, you can make loads of diddy pizzas."

"Still super delicious as well as being so quick and easy to make. It's basically like a mini pizza oven!"

Many of Becky's food-loving followers are now eager to try their hand at the recipe, although some were admittedly confused as to why the cheese didn't just move around chaotically inside the air fryer.

Reassuring them this just wasn't an issue, Becky added: "Never found the cheese to move it’s stuck to the tomato and doesn’t ever fly around when I make it. Probably made it 100 times too."
