Three things we learned as Celtic score NINE against Dundee United in brutal Tannadice rampage

Celtic have romped to their latest Premiership win, putting nine past Dundee United in an ominous warning for the rest of the league.

It was three Kyogo Furuhashi goals that kicked off the Tangerines torment and Ange Postecoglou's side were not prepared to give them one minute of rest. Jota scored a fourth and Liel Abada wasn't going to let his attacking teammates score while he didn't, adding three of his own to the lengthy scoresheet.

Josip Juranovic and Carl Starfelt scored on a day where Dundee United conceded an astonishing 23rd goal in four games with pressure mounting on new head coach Jack Ross. For his counterpart Postecoglou, it bought into the non-stop mantra he wants his Hoops player to play with on an astonishing day. They go top with maximum points after five games ahead of next week's huge derby with Rangers. Here are three things we learned from this thumping win.

The gulf

Has there ever been such a gap in quality between Glasgow's big two and the rest of this league, so early on in a season?

United didn't look in the same universe, never mind same league as Celtic. and the most surprising fact was they were 4-0 down despite playing relatively ok. The quality level was astounding.

Kyogoal

Everyone in green and white had a good game but especially their hat-trick hero in Tayside.

His first two goals were proper moments of class and the third was the culmination of a great move. He's the first player at the club since Odsonne Edouard to score in his first four league games.

Back in time

This result is the most the Hoops have won an way game by since 1988 when they thrashed Hamilton by an 8-0 scoreline.

Then you need to go back to the late 1897 for a 9-1 win over Clydebank to find the next. This is now their joint-second biggest win. Wow.
