Arsenal's pre-season winning streak came to an end on Wednesday after they were defeated 2-1 by fellow Premier League side Brentford in a behind-closed-doors friendly at London Colney.
Mikel Arteta used a heavily rotated side in preparation for the Emirates Cup clash against Sevilla on Saturday and the opening game of the season at Crystal Palace next Friday.
Despite the numerous changes, it remained a good opportunity for those who perhaps didn't receive much game time in recent weeks to get some minutes under their belt. Several images from the game have since been released and here are three things we spotted.

Marquinhos involved
Summer signing Marquinhos played the full 90 minutes and appeared to impress. The Brazilian came close to scoring not once but twice, according to the Arsenal website, in what was another lively display from the youngster.
The 19-year-old wasn't involved against Everton or Orlando City in the United States due to a small niggle, but did make an appearance in the latter stages of the win against Chelsea.
A loan move remains a possibility for Marquinhos, with Edu and Mikel Arteta keen to ease him into the first-team setup. However, there's no reason why he can't turn their heads after Gabriel Martinelli's breakthrough in 2019.
Familiar spectators
Some of those who weren't involved took the opportunity to sit pitchside and watch their teammates in action. Fabio Vieira, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White and Kieran Tierney were among the spectators.
It would have been a familiar situation for Tierney, who finds himself recovering from a long-term injury. The Scotsman played for 30 minutes against FC Nurnberg a few weeks ago but hasn't featured since.
Despite the concerns surrounding his fitness, Tierney did feature in training yesterday, which could be an indication that he is making positive progress. Vieira is also expected back soon.
'Transfer' absentees
Bernd Leno, Pablo Mari and Hector Bellerin did not take part in the friendly amid uncertainty over their futures. Leno is closing in on a move to Fulham according to various reports and was even spotted leaving the training ground early.
Mari continues to be the subject of strong interest from Turkish side Fenerbahce, while Bellerin is believed to be keen on a return to Real Betis.
