The winners of the 2022 AA Bed & Breakfast Awards for the UK have been announced and several from Scotland were featured. This year’s awards cover four categories and winners have been selected due to their outstanding customer service, culinary merits and excellent hospitality.
The overall winner for Guest Accommodation of the Year for Scotland was the Meikleour Arms in Perth & Kinross. While the best breakfast in Scotland is served up at the Arden Country House in Linlithgow, West Lothian.
The shortlist of the AA Friendliest B&B of the Year, celebrating nine outstanding B&Bs that have distinguished themselves for their exceptional hospitality, named no less than three Scottish top businesses meaning a third of the finalists can be found in Scotland.
The Kingsway Guest House in Edinburgh, the Moor of Rannoch Restaurant & Rooms at Rannoch Station in Pitlochry and Hearth at The Old Mill Inn Brodie in Forres in Moray were all singled out for praise.
Speaking about their win, Claire Mercer Nairne, owner of Meikleour Estate, said: “It is such an honour to receive the coveted AA Scotland Guest Accommodation of the Year. Everyone at the Meikleour Arms is over the moon and we are so proud of our team who always go the extra mile to make every stay a special one.
"As we are launching some exciting new accommodation, we would like to say a huge thank you to the AA for their invaluable support and advice throughout our journey.”
Beth Cruickshank from Arden Country House added: “To say I'm surprised and delighted to have been awarded the AA Breakfast of the Year Award for Scotland is an understatement. Thank you to the AA for the wonderful surprise, beautiful award and a very special thank you to our wonderful AA Inspector for nominating us, we are thrilled to accept."
