A car laden with explosives was deliberately crashed into the gates of a popular hotel in Somalia. 'Three school kids died' as their school bus went by the explosions, according to reports.
The hotel was the Tawakal, which is frequented by politicians and business people, Mirror Online reports. After a huge blast was heard in the centre of Kismayu, witnesses said that the Al-Qaeda-affiliated Al-Shabaab militant group opened gunfire.
As well as the fatalities, there were 'close to a dozen' wounded, according to local journalist Sahra Abdi. She tweeted: "Three school kids died and close to a dozen wounded when their school bus crossing near Tawakal hotel was caught by the explosions."
