Three pals to take on 24-hour golfing charity challenge at Colvend

Three pals are set to take on a 24-hour golfing challenge for charity.

Darren Maxwell and Mark Pflanz from Castle Douglas and Alan Berry from Carlisle will tee off at Colvend Golf Club at 12noon next Saturday, June 25, and won’t stop until the same time the following day.

In the process they’re hoping to raise hundreds of pounds for Cash for Kids.

Darren came up with the idea after completing Macmillan Cancer Support’s 72-hole challenge at Colvend – where both he and Alan are members – and he convinced his friends to join them.

The club has been very supportive by helping with fundraising and supporting the boys on the day.

With it coming shortly after the longest day of the year, the trio are hoping there won’t be too many hours of darkness but floodlights and light up golf balls will help them out.

Anyone who would like to donate to their fundraiser can do so at www.cashforkidsgive.co.uk/campaign/westsound-general-fundraising-2022/fundraisers/colvend2022/
