The US Coast Guard launched a search operation at the mouth of the Connecticut River on Monday night following a boating accident that left three men missing. The incident occurred when a boat carrying nine individuals collided with a break wall near Harbor One Marina in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. The impact caused the boat to break apart, throwing all passengers into the water.

According to the lead command center controller of the US Coast Guard's Long Island Sound sector, six individuals were successfully rescued from the water. However, efforts to locate the remaining three men, who were reportedly not wearing life jackets at the time of the crash, are ongoing.

Specific details regarding the exact time and circumstances surrounding the accident have not yet been disclosed. The Coast Guard has deployed both air and water assets to aid in the search and rescue mission. Additionally, teams from mutual aid agencies have joined the operation to assist in locating the missing individuals.

Old Saybrook, the coastal town where the incident took place, is situated approximately 30 miles east of New Haven, Connecticut. The search efforts are being coordinated diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals involved in the boating accident.
