Three little known Jack Harrison alternatives Leeds United could target

Leeds United know the impending 49ers Enterprises' takeover must be given the green light before any managerial or transfer decision can be made. But that hasn't stopped the Whites' transfer rumour mill spinning with Jack Harrison the latest name linked with an Elland Road exit.

The Whites winger came close to leaving the club in January with Leicester City waiting in the wings, only for Leeds to do a dramatic U-turn and decide to keep him at the club. Harrison signed a new deal in April to keep him at the club until 2028.

However, following the club's relegation to the Championship, reports have emerged regarding a £16million release clause in his contract which could pave the way for an exit this summer. Everton are among the interested parties and Leeds will need to replace the winger.

Harrison blew hot and cold last year, but on his day was one of Leeds' best attacking options in the top flight. With that in mind, Leeds Live has taken a look at some little known alternatives, using Macro-Football, to see who could replace the former Manchester City youngster if he does leave this summer.

Ghanaian winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei tops the similarity rating with a 99.1 per cent comparison to Harrison last season. The VFL Bochum left sided midfielder played 29 times in the Bundesliga last season, scoring three times and grabbing eight assists.

Valued at €2.2million according to transfermarkt, the 29-year-old enjoyed his best campaign in the German top flight and his contract is set to expire next season. It remains to be seen whether Leeds would gamble on a player who has spent the majority of his career in the lower leagues of Germany, but he has been capped three times by his country.

Staying in Germany, Marco Richter of Hertha Berlin has a 95.1 per cent similarity to Harrison based on his overall metrics and could move this summer. The 25-year-old is of a good age and played 29 times in the Bundesliga last season.

The German scored six goals and grabbed five assists in an otherwise disappointing campaign for the Bundesliga basement boys. Richter arrived at the club from Augsburg back in 2021 and is valued at €5million according to transfermarkt.

The last alternative to Harrison is 26-year-old Brazilian Gabriel Stefezza of Lecce. The winger was a key figure in Lecce's promotion winning campaign back in 2021-22 with 14 goals in their Serie B campaign.

With a 95 per cent similarity rating, Strefezza is valued at €10million and enjoyed another successful campaign in Italy last year with eight goals and four assists in Serie A.
