Authorities have identified the three individuals who tragically lost their lives after the car they were traveling in plunged over a cliff in California. The victims have been named as 29-year-old Mohammad Noory and 28-year-old Angelica Gacho, both residents of San Francisco, along with 36-year-old Brylyn Aroma from Fort Riley, Kansas, according to the San Mateo County Coroner's Office.
The incident occurred when a gray, two-door sedan veered off Highway 1 in San Mateo County and plummeted down a cliff near the Tom Lantos Tunnels around 11:40 a.m. The crash resulted in the temporary closure of the highway, although it has since been reopened to traffic.
Recovery efforts were initially impeded by high tide conditions and cold water temperatures on the day of the accident, leading to the successful retrieval of the car the following day. The cliff, locally known as 'Devil's Slide,' stands approximately 300 to 400 feet high and is characterized by rocky terrain and winding roads.
