Three injured after 'hit and run' in St Helens

Three people have been injured after reports of a late night hit and run in St Helens.

Emergency services rushed to North Road in St Helens at around 9.30pm last night following reports of a hit and run which left a woman "lying in North Road." Residents reported a large police cordon being put in place, which was still there on Saturday morning.

Forensics were also spotted at the scene as officers worked to carry out their enquires. Merseyside Police confirmed that officers spoke to witnesses at the scene and it is believed that prior to the incident a fight had broken out involving a group of people.
