Three Ayrshire dental practices sign up to fight tooth decay in kids with out-of-hours clinics

Dentists from three Ayrshire dental practices have pledged their time in the fight to stem a growing oral health emergency affecting Scotland’s children.

The Art of Dentistry in Prestwick; Sandgate Dentistry and Alloway Place Dental Care, both in Ayr, are part of Clyde Munro Dental Group’s target of treating at least 1,000 children with a fluoride varnish (FV) application in dedicated out-of-hours clinics by the end of the year.

A fluoride varnish application is one of the most effective treatments for preventing tooth decay in children from the age of two.
