Tasmanian police have seized more than 11,000 MDMA pills worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in a pre-Christmas bust.
Police said a Hobart man was arrested yesterday morning by uniformed police at a hotel during a search that uncovered "a significant quantity of drugs and drug manufacturing equipment".
The more than 11,000 pills, which were colour coded and put on display by officers, had a street value of about $400,000, according to police.
Police could not comment further on the colourful haul.
Benjamin Shield, 47, has been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, manufacturing a controlled drug for sale, possessing a controlled plant or its products, possessing a thing used for the administration of a controlled drug, and destroying property.
Police said anyone with information about the distribution of illicit drugs could contact police or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
