Thousands aged over 65 with poor eyesight could be due up to £101 Attendance Allowance each week

Around two million people across Britain are living with a sight loss condition or degenerative eye conditions.

And for those who lose their sight later in life, it can be distressing and also sometimes impact an individuals mobility, creating independence and travel issues. But some people may not be aware that there's support out there.

Some 57,180 working age adults under 65 are receiving extra financial support through Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or Adult Disability Payment (ADP) while 44,614 people over State Pension age are getting weekly help through Attendance Allowance, the Daily Record reports.
