A walrus that shocked residents when he appeared at a Blyth yacht club last month has been spotted in Iceland, according to reports.
The eight-foot-long Arctic walrus dubbed 'Thor' turned up at the Royal Northumberland Yacht Club on Monday, January 2 where he spent time resting on a wooden pontoon. The young male, which is believed to weigh around half a ton, then left Blyth at around 6.30am the following day.
His visit to Northumberland followed a short stay in Scarborough on New Year's Eve which amazed thousands of onlookers.

Those who have been monitoring 'Thor' had thought he was heading back to Norway. However, marine mammal charity, British Divers Marine Life Rescue, has today reported that Thor has been sighted once again - but this time more than 2,000 miles away in the fishing town of Breiðdalsvík in Iceland.
The charity said it believes it is the same walrus because the markings on the animal's foreflippers are the same in the images taken of him in both locations.
A post on the organisation's Facebook page said: "After Thor's visit to the UK we wondered if we would ever see him again. We are delighted to have been informed that he is in Iceland!
"How do we know it's Thor? Our director of welfare and conservation matched the pale patches on his foreflippers.
"We are absolutely delighted by this news and know many of you will be too!"
