Thomas Tuchel to miss Leeds United vs Chelsea clash next weekend after Antonio Conte row

Thomas Tuchel could be forced to watch from the stands as Leeds United take on Chelsea next weekend. The Blues boss was shown a red card after the full-time whistle after clashing with Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte.

Both managers were dismissed and will serve a one-match suspension provided the Premier League upholds the decision which looks likely. After Spurs’ first equaliser midway through the second half, the pair clashed and the game drew to a halt.

An initial yellow card did not prevent Tuchel and Conte from clashing again at the final whistle - moments after Harry Kane snatched a 96th-minute equaliser. An argument escalated when the two went to shake hands following a full-blooded affair at Stamford Bridge.

On the week of the Premier League’s 30th anniversary, the Chelsea vs Tottenham clash showed the division in all its glory on a scorching day in West London. Two heavyweight managers going nose-to-nose on the touchline was a throwback to yesteryears when greats like Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho all clashed.

The altercation now hands Leeds a slight advantage when Chelsea arrive at Stamford Bridge next Sunday. Whites fans will be hoping for an improvement from the penultimate home game of last season when the Blues coasted to a 3-0 victory.
