Former Chelsea manager may be regretting his shows of loyalty to the club after being sacked by owner Todd Boehly on Wednesday.
The former Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund boss was dismissed off the back of a 1-0 Champions League loss away to Dinamo Zagreb. His team had also lost two of their first six Premier League matches after Boehly took over from Roman Abramovich in May.
Tuchel's impressive start last season had the London side sitting top of the Premier League after 14 games, prompting interest at various points from Barcelona and Manchester United. He opted to stay at Stamford Bridge, though, and the decision looks to have come back to haunt him.
According to The Telegraph, Barcelona considered Tuchel when looking for a new boss after Ronald Koeman's sacking in October 2021. United's interest is said to have come later, with sanctions against former Blues owner Abramovich in March prompting the club to explore Tuchel's availability.
On both occasions, though, Tuchel stayed loyal to Chelsea. Barcelona ended up with Xavi, who helped return them to the Champions League after they had sat well outside the top four when he arrived, while Man Utd have climbed above Chelsea in the Premier League table since plumping for Erik ten Hag.
While Tuchel's next steps are uncertain, Chelsea look determined to act quickly to appoint their next permanent manager. Graham Potter appears to be the frontrunner, with Brighton giving Chelsea permission to speak to the 47-year-old.

"Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Thomas Tuchel," Chelsea's statement following the sacking read. "On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club.
"Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here. As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition.
"Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach. There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made."
Tuchel took over at Chelsea in January 2021, and won the Champions League just months later. He recorded 60 victories in 100 matches, and reached two cup finals last season only for the Blues to lose to Liverpool on both occasions.
