Thomas Tuchel can continue the overhaul of his defence with the signing of Wesley Fofana this summer. Chelsea have lost Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen and need to revamp an ageing backline.
They have already added Kalidou Koulibaly to their backline, but with the three centre-backs who started against Everton all over the age of 30, it is clear that Chelsea need some youth in the ranks. Fofana started for Leicester at the weekend as they surrendered a two goal lead to draw 2-2 with Brentford, with the player heading straight down the King Power Stadium tunnel after the match.
A world record £85million bid is believed to be required to sign the 21-year-old, with Chelsea having already made two failed offers so far. Leicester appear adamant that they will hold onto their star, having not made any transfer business so far this summer.

Following a summer of transition at Stamford Bridge, following the Todd Boehly takeover it will become a progressively revamped Blues side as the season goes on. In their opening day 1-0 win over Frank Lampard's Everton the three defenders who started were Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva and Koulibaly - one of these players is likely to make way for the new addition.
Based off of his profile, he would likely play on the right-hand side of a back three, taking the role currently occupied by club captain Azpilicueta. However, with the ageing Thiago Silva and a long season ahead, we could also see him or Koulibaly at the heart of defence with Marc Cucurella on the left-hand side.
Here is how we think Chelsea would line-up with Fofana at the club:
GK: Edouard Mendy
RCB: Wesley Fofana
CB: Thiago Silva
LCB: Kalidou Koulibaly
RWB: Reece James
CM: N'Golo Kante
CM: Jorginho
LWB: Ben Chilwell
RW: Mason Mount
CF: Kai Havertz
LW: Raheem Sterling
