Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is reportedly not interested in taking the managerial job at Aston Villa following the sacking of Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard was dismissed from the Villa Park hot seat on Thursday night following a three-goal drubbing at Fulham. It was a result that leaves the Midlands club just one place above the Premier League relegation zone with only two wins from their opening 10 league outings.
Tuchel was sacked by the Blues last month following an opening-day Champions League loss away to Dinamo Zagreb. It was a surprise decision to dismiss the German coach, who had won the Champions League title with the club just over 12 months previously.
He is unsurprisingly in high demand due to his availability and superb coaching record, having also guided Paris Saint-Germain to their only-ever Champions League final a season prior to winning the competition with Chelsea.
Tuchel also guided the Blues to the finals of both the FA Cup and EFL Cup last season, only for the team to be defeated by Liverpool in penalty shootouts in both showpieces. He secured successive top-four finishes during his Stamford Bridge tenure.
Earlier this month, a report from German media outlet Sport 1 suggested Bayer Leverkusen made an approach to appoint the out-of-work Tuchel, before moving to appoint Xabi Alonso. Separate reports also outlined he turned down approaches from two unnamed Premier League clubs.

A report from The Telegraph now outlines how Tuchel also has no interest in taking over the vacant managerial position at Villa Park. He is said to have no intention of taking the role, even if he is promised big wages and a notable transfer budget.
Just minutes before Villa made their call to sack Gerrard on Thursday, the former Liverpool skipper vowed to keep fighting for his job and not give up. "It's tough but I'm a man, I accept it," he told Prime Video post-match. "I understand it, I can feel their frustration, I'm frustrated with them [too]. It was a tough night for me, personally."
He added: "I understand the situation we are I am. I am a fighter and I will never quit. We will see what happens." The 42-year-old was subject to booing from the travelling support as well as chants of 'you're getting sacked in the morning' from a packed-out Craven Cottage.
Gerrard opted to leave Rangers, where he had won the Scottish title, and head south of the border back in November. But he failed to enjoy similar success. The writing was seemingly on the wall for Gerrard when sections of the Villa Park crowd called for their manager to be sacked during a defeat to Chelsea on Sunday.
