Thomas Tuchel believes that he has been allowed to be "the best version of myself" at Chelsea and points to the trust and belief in him from the club's hierarchy as the key reason for his early success in the job.
The 48-year-old celebrated one year in the dugout at Stamford Bridge by winning FIFA's Best Head Coach award last night and, speaking afterwards, said that he has got lucky to fit so well in West London.
Asked to name the key to a year that brought Chelsea's second Champions League title, Tuchel said: "A strong club, a strong team, and the luck that it’s a good fit. It’s a good fit in terms of mentality, it’s a good fit in terms of work ethic, and I think you need luck.
