Thomas Tuchel has been told Chelsea have made a mistake signing Raheem Sterling and should instead cut their losses with Tammy Abraham. The latter swapped Stamford Bridge for the Stadio Olimpico last year after falling out of favour under the Blues boss.
And, ironically enough, since Abraham's exit, the German has been in the market for artillery to bolster his strike force amid growing misfortune in the final-third. As a result, Todd Boehly welcomed Raheem Sterling to west London this summer in a bid to solve Chelsea's goal-scoring woes.
However, despite the former Manchester City forward having already shown great promise for the Blues, Tuchel has been told that the 27-year-old is not the answer to Chelsea's problems. Instead, Boehly has been encouraged to set sights on Abraham, who is said to have a buy-back clause which will be activated in 2023.

It's believed that the west Londoners will soon have the option to re-sign the 24-year-old for £67million. Speaking on talkSPORT, as quoted by the Mirror, former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan claimed that Chelsea need a 'focal point' oppose to a creative force like Sterling.
"Both Chelsea and Manchester United need centre forwards, Abraham has scored 17 or 18 goals for Roma last year, I am not sure why he is not in the conversation for Manchester United or Chelsea," he said. "Even sides that clearly have a need for a certain type of player, because I don’t think Raheem Sterling is going to be the answer for Chelsea from a focal point."
Abraham has enjoyed a rich vein of form since swapping the Premier League for the Serie A, relishing the stewardship of Jose Mourinho. He featured 53 times for Roma across all competitions this season, directly contributing towards 32 goals.
Abraham's impressive displays have seen him find the net more than any other English striker in a Serie A season ever. With the help of the former Chelsea boss, the talisman has flourished in Italy and left the Blues to rue his departure.
