Brentford manager Thomas Frank believes only Liverpool have produced a better spell against Manchester United in the Premier League this season than the one his side conjured on Wednesday night.
The Bees were eventually beaten 3-1 by the Red Devils, as goals from Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford in the second half saw the visitors to victory at the Brentford Community Stadium.
While Ivan Toney notched a late consolation for the newly-promoted outfit, they could have easily taken something from the game had they been ruthless with the chances created in the first half.
David De Gea was on hand numerous times to deny efforts at goal and the Spanish international was ultimately vital in Ralf Rangnick's side getting the win.

Frank was in bullish mood after the game and as relayed by Miguel Delaney of The Independent, he referenced Jurgen Klopp's side when assessing the performance of his own players.
"I can't remember a team that destroyed Manchester United that much in the first half that was not Liverpool," he said. "I am of course frustrated."
Liverpool produced arguably the most eye-catching performance of the season when they met United in October, as the rampant visitors ran out 5-0 winners over the Red Devils.
On the day, Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick after goals from Naby Keita and Diogo Jota had already given United a mountain to climb.
In his conversation with BT Sport (h/t the Daily Mirror ), the Brentford coach embarked on a rant against United and remarked on how fortunate they were in his opinion to get over the line.
"We destroyed them in the first half, they didn't have a sniff, three huge chances and there could only have been one winner of this game," said the Dane. "They are unbelievably lucky. I know all the stuff about taking chances. They changed the system against little Brentford.
"One of those nights, fair play to David de Gea, if we get those chances again one will go in the back of the net. Our intensity killed them, we showed that in the first half, we played the Brentford way."
Brentford were less competitive against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, as the home side were in complete control in a 3-0 win.
