Thomas Brown completes interview for Titans’ HC vacancy

The Tennessee Titans announced they have completed their virtual interview with Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown for their head coach position. News of Tennessee’s interest in the young play-caller was first reported on by ESPN’s Kimberley A. Martin this past Monday.

Brown was hired by the Panthers as their offensive coordinator last offseason, but did not begin the campaign in charge of play-calling duties. That responsibility was held by former head coach Frank Reich, who handed the sheet over to Brown after six weeks and reclaimed them just three games later.

After Reich was fired following the team’s Week 12 loss to the Tennessee Titans, Brown was given full reign of the offense for the remaining six games of the season. The Panthers finished with an average of 265.3 yards per game, the fewest in the NFL.

This is not the first shot at a head coaching gig for Brown—who interviewed for the Houston Texans last year. He has also reportedly interviewed for the Chicago Bears’ current opening at offensive coordinator.
