Licensing deals are pretty routine in the fashion universe. Many brands reach out to others to help create certain products, like sunglasses or fragrances. Suit specialist Thom Browne decided to break with the pattern by making its new eyewear collection in house.
The fashion house used to rely on an outside company to create its frames, but now the luxe label really means business and is taking on the creation process internally. The new glasses are handcrafted in Japan from "acetate and titanium, finished in a variety of seasonal colorways including grey and Tokyo tortoise." The brand puts its own unique spin on a variety of frame styles, from cat eyes to aviators.
There's also a coordinating advertising campaign captured by Bruno Staub. Models model the fresh range outfitted in the brand's tailored suits around New York City causing quite the spectacle. You can see the full set of ads on the label's Instagram.
The glasses start at $540 and go all the way up to $2,790. Shop for your new frames on Thom Browne's website.
