This Works! Or does it? I tried this reduced sleep spray to see if it would knock me out naturally

When I was asked to review a product that promised to "help me fall asleep faster, naturally and wake feeling more refreshed" I literally couldn't wait for bedtime.

After weeks of rough nights disturbed by humid temperatures, an overworked mind and the joys of menopause, I was just about willing to try anything.

Imagine my delight then, to be handed a bottle of This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray - the award-winning natural sleep aid designed to calm the nerves, made from 100% natural fragrances and pure essential oils.

The This Works Deep Sleep range has been curated by experts who are deeply invested in the science of sleep, looking for effective sleep solutions for light sleepers everywhere.

The brand's first functional fragrance, Deep Sleep, has been reviewed by neuroscientists and put through a series of clinical tests including fMRI brain imaging which has demonstrated the potential to help you nod off to sleep.

It has also been tested in four different independent user studies with over 600 participants agreeing that the Deep Sleep pillow spray helped them fall asleep faster.

Described on the This Works website as being "a natural, aromatherapeutic Superblend of Lavender, Camomile and Vetivert, the spray calms both mind and body, soothing you to sleep" the 75ml spray smells delicious, like a heady blend of lavender and something with a bit of citrus (I'm no scent expert, obviously).

Did the This Works Deep Sleep Spray actually work?

With a satisfying pump action, I followed the instructions on the bottle and spritzed my pillow before I lay my head down to wish for sleep. As the soothing smell wafted across my pillow and caressed the top of my duvet, I breathed it in and hoped for the best.

The smell was actually very relaxing and it gave off a lot less "old-lady" lavender vibes than I was expecting.

Whether it was the pure placebo effect of trying a new product, or the gentle aroma that seemed to linger on my eyelids, I did actually fall into a nice deep slumber.

Waking up before the alarm, feeling mostly refreshed but also a little surprised, I was delighted to be on the right side of the day to be listening to the dawn chorus for once.

After a good night's sleep, the world feels brand new again, and for today at least, I'm putting all that newfound positivity down to the effectiveness of the magical elixir in my beloved new sleep spray.

This Works Deep Sleep Spray is currently included in the Amazon Prime Day deals. Available for £13.30, it is cheaper than the same-size version on sale at Boots, John Lewis and Debenhams.

Fans of my new favourite bedtime spray can also indulge themselves with candles, overnight cream, bath soak and even travel-size sets to help you nod off anywhere in the world.
