This woman might be living a real-life Hallmark movie and we’re too invested to look away

Stories like this are often reserved for saccharine romantic comedies with unrealistic plots. A beautiful person just happens to encounter another beautiful person at the airport. They have a meet-cute, they part ways, something reconnects them in an unexpected fashion, their lives are changed forever. (Usually someone is wearing flannel and runs a super cute bakery and/or Christmas tree farm.)

But it never actually happens in real life — right?

Well it did for literary agent Emily Forney. En route to Los Angeles on April 26, Forney found herself sitting next to “the most gorgeous man” she had ever seen. He not only had two books with him, he was chowing down on a morning steak burrito, leading Forney to take her story to Twitter to declare she might have found her “soulmate.”

From there, she takes us on a Twitter journey about the mystery man that would make Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan melt.

One of the best parts is Forney’s recognition of just how rom-com this situation actually was, down to her having a very Hallmark-appropriate job.

Forney’s awkwardness is endearing, declaring at one point that she’s just going to “cut her losses” after clumsily answering his attempts at striking up a conversation.

While the duo didn’t end up sitting next to each other on the flight, the mystery man found a way to give her his number.

We can’t get enough of this. We need updates. Preferably with cute photos. And a Hallmark adaptation titled “Love Is In the Air,” please and thanks.
