This Week in Pokémon GO: Nov. 7 – 13, 2022

The Season of Light is slowly fading, but that doesn’t stop the clock for the routine in Niantic’s popular mobile game – as usual, a number of in-game events await you. Find out what’s coming up in Pokémon GO during the week of Nov. 7 – 13, 2022 in our weekly preview.

Spotlight Hour: Croagunk

Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, from 6 to 7 p.m. local time

The star of the second Spotlight Hour of the month is not necessarily a highlight for many users – Croagunk is really not a rarity in the game. Shiny hunters can at least hope for an encounter with the rare version of the pocket monster when the spawn rate increases dramatically during the one-hour event.

In addition, each Pokémon caught during the event will provide double experience points (XP), enabling players to pocket a huge amount in a short period of time.

Greedy Gluttons Event: Start

Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, starting at 10 a.m. local time

The Greedy Gluttons Event, which lasts until November 17, celebrates the debut of Guzzlord and includes a Rocket Takeover at its end – so you can expect fresh Shadow Pokémon to come to the game. In addition, such events allow you to make Shadow forms forget about the mostly useless Frustration move. Niantic is keeping further details about the bonuses and content of the event under wraps so far.

Raid Hour: Guzzlord

Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, from 6 to 7 p.m. local time

Since Giratina (Origin Forme) disappears from the Raids on November 8, there is a power vacuum to be filled. Ultrabeast Guzzlord rises to the challenge. The Pokémon of the Dragon and Dark types will remain in the game for around two weeks as a boss of the Level 5 Raids, making it available in Pokémon GO for the first time. As usual, the Shiny version of the monster is not available on its debut run. During Raid Hour, Guzzlord fills all available gyms, so you can fight several battles in a short time as a group.

GO Battle League: Ultra League and Ultra League Premier

Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, starting at 1 p.m. PDT

Only three rotations remain in Season 12 of the GO Battle League before the next season begins. The Ultra League will remain available for one more week, though the Willpower Cup will say goodbye to the game for now. It will be replaced by the Ultra League Premier – in this variation of the standard format, the upper limit for Competition Points (CP) will remain at 2,500 CP, but Legendary and Mythical Pokémon as well as Ultra Beasts will not be allowed to participate.

Community Day: Teddiursa

Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time

A week after the Classic Edition of Community Day, which spotlighted Dratini, the regular version of the event will feature Teddiursa. This one, however, is a highlight for players, as the event is the first time you’ll get to evolve Ursaluna. This evolution, introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus earlier this year, automatically knows the new attack High Horsepower and can only be evolved while the full moon rules the sky. You can find additional information on the official blog.
