Anyone looking for something emotionally-charged should keep an eye out for This War of Mine’s upcoming re-release on new-generation platforms.
On Wednesday, 11 Bit Studios announced that This War of Mine: Final Cut will release on May 10, 2022, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Better yet, Game Pass subscribers can download Final Cut on launch day completely free of charge.
This new version sports 4K graphics options and several UI tweaks that make the side-scrolling survival title a bit easier to navigate. The extra DLC episodes, bonus scenario, and extra character from This War of Mine: Stories will also be part of the Final Cut package. So think of it as an ultimate edition.

This War of Mine: Final Cut doesn’t shy away from political commentary, especially in light of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
“The message and themes existing inside of This War of Mine have, unfortunately, become brutally vivid and relevant in recent months. We believe it’s especially important to educate people on the realities of war right now, while its horrifying reality has become a daily struggle for people that are close to us,” Przemek Marszal, 11 Bit Studios CEO, said in a press release. “We’re proud that recent This War of Mine fundraising helped us create a wave of spontaneous help for war victims in Ukraine, and we hope we can further spread our antiwar message with This War of Mine: Final Cut.”
