The third round of the 150th Open Championship didn’t disappoint at all on Saturday. There was so much drama. There were so many great shots. And it all set up what should be an incredible final round on Sunday.
The shot of the day came from Rory McIlroy, who shot a 66 on Saturday and shares the 54-lead with Viktor Hovland. McIlroy, who is easily the fan favorite this week at St. Andrews, holed out for eagle from a bunker on the short par-4 10th hole, which sent the Old Course into hysterics.
His shot reached the green and then rolled straight towards the hole. Fans were screaming for it to go in… and then it did just that.

What a moment, and the call to match it. Today was about as good as it gets.pic.twitter.com/auvQzreZTr
